Today you will experience what might become the highlight of your trip. Ángel Peralta Astolfi is in fact the grandson of Ángel Peralta, he will meet you and you will set off to discover the fascinating culture of horse and wild bull breading in Andalucía.

Ángel Peralta Astolfi continues the family tradition and is a well known horse-rider, specializing in equestrian shows. He has recently been seen with his horse accompanying a violin concert of Paco Montalvo, probably the best violinist in Spain, and the youngest musician to make a 21st century debut in Carnege Hall in New York. This is no ordinary farm... Just 25 km outside of Sevilla and set in the surroundings of the Doñana National Park, one of the most important ecological reserves in Europe, the Rocío Ranch has been in the Peralta family for generations breeding Carthusian horses and wild bulls.

Alongside cows and fighting bulls, the ranch is known for its breeding of the iconic Andalusian horse, whose stamina and athleticism saw it prized by nobility and celebrated for its ability as a warhorse. The Peraltas specialise in the breeding of a sub-strain within the breed known as the Carthusian, which is considered to be the purest strain of Andalusian

The ranch itself is rich in history and incredibly beautiful, boasting traditional Sevillano architecture in the surrounds of the Doñana National Park - one of the most important ecological reserves in Europe. There is nothing quite like experiencing it than with someone who grew up there and together you will meander through its impressive facilities, meeting the horses, exploring the main house with its endless photos that span the decades (it dates back to 1870 and has been in the family for generations!), and ending in the family museum, which tells a unique and fascinating story of this illustrious family and how they became legends in the world of Spanish horse and bull breeding.

Furthermore, if interested, Ángel will take you to a traditional restaurant in the area where you can have a taste at the local gastronomy in the surroundings, nearby the ranch and in what nowadays represents the biggest rice area of Spain. To complete the day this is your opportunity for a little horse-riding after lunch in a pure nature place.
